Versatile Uses

The Original™ Free Hanging Shelf Bracket™ is perfect for a range of applications, including floating shelves, mantels, hearths, and desks. The Original™ Free Hanging Shelf Bracket mounts directly to 2"x4" wood studs inside the wall before sheetrock installation. For metal studs, refer to our installation video. Ensure the bracket is mounted into wood studs, and secure to each 2"x4" stud for maximum stability.

Sizing Guide

Determining the correct size bracket is crucial for a secure installation:

Measure the horizontal piece from tip to tip.
Include the portion that will be inside the wall (approximately 3").
Example: For a 12" wide shelf, leave 2"-4" from the outer edge plus the 3" inside the wall, resulting in a 12" shelf bracket.

The Industrial brackets are 1" thick as opposed to the 1/2" in steel. They are designed to be used with overhangs that reach 24" or for outdoor applications.
